Zolotovoritsky Park

Zolotovoritsky Park

Zolotovoritsky Park is a green oasis in the very heart of Kyiv, surrounding the magnificent monument of Old Rus’ architecture — the Golden Gate. The modern park was established in the second half of the 19th century, when the city began actively developing its public spaces. Since then, it has become a favorite place of leisure for Kyiv residents and visitors alike.

History and modernity blend organically within the park. Here, one can see archaeological remains of ancient Rus’ walls, feel the spirit of Kyivan Rus beside the reconstruction of the Golden Gate, and nearby enjoy the comfort of shaded pathways and benches, where a peaceful atmosphere prevails. The park is adorned with several notable monuments, including the statue of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, creator of the Golden Gate, as well as the popular bronze sculpture of Pantaleon the cat, which according to legend brings good luck.

Zolotovoritsky Park is not just a green space, but a true cultural environment. It is home to mini-sculptures from the “Seek” art project, as well as the famous Termen Fountain. Thanks to the harmonious combination of architectural landmarks, artistic objects, and landscape design, the park has become a meeting place, a resting spot, and a favorite photo location for thousands of tourists.

In the evenings, the park is especially beautiful — the illuminated Golden Gate creates a magical atmosphere that evokes Kyiv’s thousand-year history, while at the same time making the area a vibrant, modern urban center. The park space often becomes a stage for street musicians, and the city begins to speak to its residents through melodies and songs.
