Welcome!

Welcome!

Kyiv is the heart and soul of Ukraine, an ancient city on the majestic Dnipro River, where for more than fifteen centuries the history, culture, and spirituality of the Ukrainian people have intertwined. Here, at the crossroads of trade and cultural routes between the north and south, east and west of Europe, Ukrainian statehood was born, legends were created, and ideas emerged that shaped entire eras.

This is a city mentioned more than a thousand years ago — a city of princes, warriors, craftsmen, and travelers. At different times, Kyiv was called the Second Jerusalem — for its holiness and spiritual grandeur, and the capital of Holy Rus — for its strength, wisdom, and influence. Today, it is the capital of independent Ukraine, where ancient traditions and modernity coexist, and history comes alive at every step.

The heart of Kyiv is considered to be the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, founded almost a thousand years ago — the spiritual cradle of Orthodoxy and a National Shrine. The face of the city is Saint Sophia of Kyiv — a symbol of eternity, wisdom, and beauty. Among Kyiv’s treasures are the Golden Gate, St. Andrew’s Church, St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery, the Mariinsky Palace, and the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, which, more than 400 years ago, opened the way to education and enlightenment for all Eastern Europe.

Kyiv is a city where every stone breathes history, where sacred places and great figures form a National Pantheon, and where modern life inspires new achievements. It preserves the memory of generations and invites discovery, for Kyiv is not only the past, but also the future being born every day.

Welcome to Kyiv — the city that lives in the heart of every Ukrainian.
