TSUM is the central department store of the capital and one of the most iconic commercial buildings on Khreshchatyk. Located at the intersection with Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, the building was constructed in 1936–1939 in the Art Deco style. Despite partial destruction during the Second World War, it was restored, and in 2012–2016 underwent a major reconstruction: the historic façade was preserved untouched, while the interior space was completely redesigned and nearly doubled in size.
Today, TSUM is an eight-storey modern department store featuring leading brands in fashion, beauty, sports, kids’ wear, home & gifts, and gastronomy. It houses a food hall, cafés, a premium Multiplex cinema, and on the seventh floor — the Milk Bar restaurant with a panoramic terrace offering one of the best views of Khreshchatyk. In summer, classical and jazz concerts are often held on TSUM’s rooftop, making the department store not only a shopping destination but also a cultural hub.
TSUM actively supports Ukrainian designers: an entire floor is dedicated to more than 125 local brands. The store’s window displays have become a distinctive artistic tradition — curated as art installations showcasing Ukrainian heritage and contemporary design. Thanks to the combination of historic architecture and modern concept, TSUM remains one of the key points of attraction for Kyiv residents and visitors alike.
